Land Managers with an Interest in Community Development
We are looking for two land managers with a strong interest in community development who want to help develop and maintain the city's land holdings. Together, we create an even more attractive future city!
Your Responsibilities
The positions have different focuses: one with a technical focus and one with a legal focus. In both roles, you will be responsible for the city's leases and rights of use. You will handle legal and financial issues, negotiate contracts, and act as the owner's representative for the municipality's land. You will create and maintain relationships with both current and future tenants. You will also collaborate with other departments and authorities.
Technical Focus:
You will focus more on the technical management of the land, including maintenance issues, land leases, and practical handling of land-related matters.
Legal Focus:
You will focus more on interpreting and managing real estate legal issues, contract negotiations, and the application of legislation such as the Land Code.
Your Qualifications
You have an academic education in community development, land surveying, or real estate law, or many years of work experience in the field. You have experience in land or property management and good knowledge of rights of use agreements and the Land Code. You find it easy to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Experience in municipal work and work with land lease agreements is a plus.
You enjoy taking overall responsibility and actively working with the management of the lease agreements and properties we are responsible for. You have economic and legal awareness and are meticulous in your tasks. You thrive in social settings and appreciate creating contact with residents, representatives of the business community, and colleagues within the city. Flexibility is important, and you understand the importance of good service and a positive attitude.
We Offer
At the Land and Development Unit, we are 35 enthusiastic employees working together towards ambitious goals. We are responsible for managing the city's land reserve, leasehold rights, and providing land for various purposes such as industries, community gardens, allotments, and vacation homes. With us, you will have a developing role in an engaged workgroup. We offer good opportunities for professional development and a workplace where collaboration and innovation are in focus.
You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and influence the city's land development. Right now, we are driving projects such as Mälarporten, Sätra, and Gäddeholm. We are also involved in the development of several new areas for businesses and smaller residential areas.

We believe in trust and freedom under responsibility. This means that you plan your workday yourself, have flexible hours, and the opportunity to work remotely part of the time.
Here, you become part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show initiative in both big and small matters. We live our values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues around the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
